championship-mamager-2010Think you can do better than Rafa Benitez did this weekend? Or just fancy taking Leyton Orient to the Champions League? Well Championship Manager 2010 has just landed and will let you do all that. And if you nab it before 10 September, it’ll costs you as little as 1p. So how do you score the gaming bargain of the year? Read on and we’ll tell you.

To pick up Championship Manager for 1p you’ll need to head over to chapmanstore.com and grab the downloadable version. Eidos, the game’s developer, is billing it as the gaming equivalent of Radiohead’s In Rainbows: you pay as much or little as you want, with prices kicking off at a penny.

Football Manager 2010 slated for 30 October

There’s the small matter of a £2.50 transaction fee, but get past that and you’re looking at the best way to kick off the new season. Especially if you’re a Liverpool fan looking to right the wrongs of last Sunday.

Championship Manager 2010 is the first footie game of the new season, with arch–rival Football Manager 2010 due to drop on 30 October. We’ll be getting our mitts on both so stay tuned for a review soon.

Will this be available for the Mac? I’ve had a look at the site and it makes no mention of what the requirements are. Hope so as this is a great idea, plus I’ve not played CM for many years and would love to take it back up again!

A far cry from the ridiculous price tags being bandied around for MW2. Kudos, Eidos!
