Cheap touchscreens are all the rage. After the dirt–cheap Orange Vegas, the latest bargain blower to rock a touchy feely display is the Alcatel OT–708. Packing a hearty battery and enough extras to sate budget friendly appetites, it looks like a recession–based winner. Read on and fill up on all the news now.
The Alcatel OT–708, also dubbed the Touch Mini, comes packing a 2.4–inch, 320×240 touchscreen, with a 1.3MP camera stuck on the back, with video recording thrown in to boot.
MMS and email are supported, with Fring Instant Messaging preloaded on the Alcatel OT–708, in case texting doesn’t float your boat. The music player supports AAC and AAC+, so DRM–free tunes from iTunes are a goer too.
Orange Vegas: the cheapest touchscreen ever?
Ok, there’s no HSDPA, with only GPRS under the hood. But you do get Bluetooth and a 4GB memory card chucked in to top up the paltry 10MB on–board memory. But we know all you’re really after is the price. Well, the Alcatel OT–708 comes in at just £49.99 on Orange. It’s due next month. If you’re skint but are desperate for a next–gen handset, then it’s definitely worth a look.
