TomTom for iPhone has hit the UK iPhone App Store a few hours after our Antipodean cousins got to grips with it, with pricing for the satnav wizard’s app varying depending on bundled maps. TomTom for iPhone for UK & Ireland, what most of us will be nabbing, is yours for £59.99 but you’ll also be able to pick up the Western Europe version for £79.99 if you plan on taking a tootle abroad. TomTom for iPhone isn’t cheap, no, but for anyone with a motor, it should come in a whole lot more handy than just another fart app.

For that sum, the TomTom for iPhone app will get you IQ Routes access to work out the real fastest route depending on time of day, safety camera alerts, 2D and 3D views, as well as custom features such as multitouch inputs to swipe, pinch and zoom in on maps.
Unfortunately there’s still no sign of the accompanying car kit with speakers, charging capabilities and GPS boosting skills, but it can’t be far behind so we’ll let you know as soon as the first TomTom for iPhone bundles start shipping.
