Don’t get us wrong. We love a bit of Guitar Hero World Tour when we’re a few sheets to the wind. But sometimes plastic instruments are too taxing, and a good old singsong is what you need. And the Wii is the latest to get on the karaoke bandwagon with We Sing, a new game that supports four microphones. Cue drunken caterwauling.
We Sing is all set to land this Christmas, with a special airing coming next week at Gamescom in Cologne. The idea is simple. Hook up four microphones (or fewer if you want to keep things less Beach Boys) and belt out tunes by the likes of Kylie, Lily Allen and Coldplay.

A full tracklist hasn’t been outed, but We Sing’s maker, Nordic Games, says it’s struck deals with EMI, Warner and Universal. So you should have plenty of tunes to attempt to harmonies on, even if you end up sounding like Peter Andre and Jordan hollering on their atrocious duets LP.
Nordic Games says We Sing is all about “singing in groups”, hence the four mic thing. Expect some desperate X Factor idiots to claim it as their inspiration come next year’s round of talent show madness.
