zunehd041Microsoft could be planning to launch an app store for its Zune HD media player – and according to reports has already offered at least one developer a “bucket of money” if he creates a Zune HD version his iPhone Twitter client.

It seems that Microsoft is looking to beef up the Zune HD’s credentials as an iPod touch rival. The iPod touch, after all, has a web browser and thousands of apps to entice consumers – the Zune HD is just a media player.

According to Daring Fireball the developer in question turned Microsoft down in order to keep his app available for iPhone – but the assumption is that the big M will try it (or have already tried it) with the developers of other popular App Store apps. If they have plans, we’ll hear more about it soon enough.
