With an event lined up for 7 September, Apple fans the world over are praying for the much–vaunted Apple tablet to finally make an official appearance. And while that day is still at least a few weeks off, one insider has spilled the beans to Gizmodo, offering up tantalising new details about the so–called iProd. Read on for all the news.
Gizmodo claims to have spoken to someone on the inside, who says he, “May or may not have sat in some Apple meetings for the tablet.” While that seems noncommittal. the US gadget site believes the source is nailed on. And they certainly do shed some new light on the device, with other predictions falling into line with well worn gossip.
“The device, which I’ve held mock ups of, is going to have a 10 inch screen, and when I saw it looked just like a giant iPhone, with a black back— although that design could change at any time,” the source said.
However, they go on to say that there’ll be two versions: one rocking a webcam and the other for “educational use.” The latter is a bold claim, but could mean school’s with a monster budget will be getting some super cool new gadgets next term.
Conflicting reports, though, from The Loop, say a “very reliable source” has told them that the September release plan is “flat out wrong.” Could it be the rumour mill is off kilter? With more hype now than the original iPhone, it’s hard to imagine Apple hasn’t got something major planned for next month.
