When the user selects an icon on the screen (a the 3" mark) the screen gives way to the pressure and distorts. If you don't know what I mean try pressing your LCD screen with your finger as if it was a touch screen, the image distorts slightly. The iPhone 3G for example doesn't do this, the screen is hard to the touch and there is no distortion.
