Zune HD

Microsoft’s Zune HD is hitting shelves on 15 September, after leaks of the slick new iPod touch–basher’s packaging and its release date got out ahead of schedule. And while US gadget geeks have raved about the new PMP, one question remains. When do we get ours here in Blighty?

The new Microsoft Zune HD has been steadily unveiled over the summer, with anxious Microsoft fans sniffing out word before the Big M itself came out, ‘fessed up and started showing off its latest toy.

The OLED screen–toting Zune HD has received plenty of plaudits for its sharp looks, as well as its easy to use UI and HD video playback. But as with the original Zune, Microsoft is saying absolutely nothing about when us Brits can have a play. The first generation is yet to hit these shores.

Zune HD photo bonanza!

The move seems baffling, especially as Apple will doubtless tout its new mooted 64GB iPod touch and iProd Apple Tablet in September, possibly just days after Microsoft starts selling the Zune HD Stateside. Launch it here and surely you’d get plenty of attention, not to mention plenty of Apple–haters fighting to get their hands on one.
