The rumours were true: Microsoft and Nokia have just confirmed a major league team-up that’ll see the two tech giants working together to bring proper Microsoft Office Mobile software to Nokia’s range of Symbian smartphones,
Nokia already uses Microsoft’s Exchange ActiveSync email software on selected handsets, and next year we’re going to see its smartphones packing Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile. This lets you find and communicate with work colleagues via “presence information”, instant messaging and more.
That will be followed up by other Office apps and services in the future, including the ability to view, edit, create and share Office documents with mobile-tailored versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote.
