Now here’s something to add a little spice to talk of a Nokia netbook. Word on the web is there’s a Sony Ericsson smart-book on the way, meaning both mobile players will be going head–to–head for your instant–on computing affections. Can both win out? Read on to see just what Sony Ericsson has planned for its smart-book.
For those in need of a gadget news reboost, smart-books are next–generation instant–on machines, roughly the size of the Sony Vaio P. They will offer super–fast web access and speedy processing, thanks to the likes of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon, already sitting snugly under the hood of the Toshiba TG01.
Netbooknews claims it’s heard from “a reliable Taiwanese source” that a Sony Ericsson smart-book is coming “soon”. Whether that means before the year’s out remains a mystery, and while Qualcomm is not a confirmed partner, it did tell us earlier in the summer that we’d be seeing stacks of smart-books come the end of 2009.
A Sony Ericsson smart-book certainly isn’t too big a jump. The mobile giant has previous in making top drawer smartphones like the Xperia X3, so why not go slightly larger and make something truly worthy of new adopters fickle affections.
