It’s been, ooh, at least a week since we throw another log onto that PS3 Slim rumour pyre. So here’s another one to keep you snug gadget fans. A French games site has receivedd a tip from an “anonymous retailer” which claims to have the deets on the launch of the PS3 Slim on this side of the pond. Want to know when you can play nice? Course you do, so keep reading.
The PS3 Slim is all set to be unveiled next week in Cologne at Gamescom. But French gamers have sniffed out word that the slimmed down hub will be hitting shelves next month, with a €100 (£85) price cut, down from 400 (£343). If that’s the case, we can expect a nice cut here in Blighty too.
The news comes after Sony’s CEO, Sir Howard Stringer, said a price cut was not happening. However, the PS3 Slim is now starting to look like a copper–bottomed rumour, with plans to show it off at Gamescom slipping next week.
Will we really be getting a PS3 Slim next week? Tell us what you’ve got to say over in the Electricpig Forum.
