wii-inflatableThought the Wii Vitality Sensor was weird? Think again. Nintendo is working on a new inflatable Wii controller that you sit in order to  do such bizarre things as bucking bronco, riding dragons or just the odd dolphin. Read on to see just how this leftfield concept really works.

Nintendo clearly feels put out by Project Natal. So it’s working on something truly unique. An inflatable Wii controller which will let you play games by moving while sitting on your back side. The plans, unearthed in a new patent doc, show accelerometers in the seat picking up movement when you slap the Wii remote in the front.

Wii Vitality Sensor gets date and details

The inflatable controller could obviously be let down, which Ninty says will make it ” compact to ship and store.” Or just take over to your pals and play head-to-head horse racing games. Now that does sound weird.

Obviously, this is some way off. Fortunately, you’ll be able to play nice with Wii Vitality Sensor from 2010, meaning the inflatable Wii controller has some time to think about what it wants to be.

Why does the pic, which im guessing comes from the patent application, depict person with the head of middle aged man, but with a young boys body, and wearing a baby-grow, all in one outfit thing?!?

Beyond terrifying isn’t it? Patent pics always throw this kind of bonkers stuff up. Love it.
