Fresh from making its way onto the iPhone last week, satnav app CoPilot Live v8 has now launched on Android and Windows Mobile.
Described as the “most powerful CoPilot yet”, the satnav app offers the usual melange of turn-by-turn voice guidance, crisp 3D mapping and points of interest, all optimised for large touchscreen handsets.
Other features include a fully-featured pedestrian mode for footsloggers, a speed limit indicator that warns you if you go too fast, “safety” camera alerts, and phone integration (the ability to direct dial to points of interest, for example).
CoPilot Live v8 also features a whole bevy of “Live” services, like constantly updated traffic information, weather conditions, fuel prices, local search, and LiveLink. The latter allows you to share your location with CoPilot-using friends, and in turn see whereabouts they are.
Lastly, there’s the brand new CoPilot OnDemand, which allows you to buy and download extra maps direct to your phone via 3G or Wi-Fi.
Interestingly, there’s still no sign of a Symbian version, but we’d expect to see one poke it head above the parapet very soon.
