mw2Activision might be caught up in an almighty faff over the pricing of Modern Warfare 2, but the hottest game of 2009 is set to get two DLC packs after it hits shelves later this year. That’s the word direct from Activision. Keep reading to see just what you can expect from these Modern Warfare 2 extras.

Modern Warfare 2 is undoubtedly the game that everyone’s talking about. And while we caught a glimpse of the main gameplay during Microsoft’s blockbuster press conference at E3, Activision is already plotting its next move with two new DLC packs confirmed by Activision’s Mike Griffith.

“We plan to launch two separate map packs for this title,” said Griffith, with both Xbox 360 and PS3 punters in line for some hardcore battling fun. Sadly he was less forthcoming about when we’d be getting involved, but with the title due on 10 November, it won’t be until well into 2010.

Activision thinks game price hikes are joking matter

The real question though, is how much will it cost? With Modern Warfare 2 set at a massive £55, but already down to £45 on Amazon, will it be nice and pricey too? Let’s hope not, eh?

Sounds like not only have they increased the retail price of the game, they have also split out some of the content and plan to charge separately for it. Still COD fans don’t get any sympathy from me, as COD series went off the boil along time ago, with fan better franchises around (killzone2 for example). If you are brainwashed into thinking COD is the only shooter in town, then you deserve all you get from Activision…
