Last month we heard that Orange would be launching the long-awaited LG Watch Phone in August, and that’s proved to be the case – at least in France, where the wrist-mounted timepiece talker has just hit the shelves. And there’s good news – it costs slightly less than predicted.
Orange France has the LG Watch Phone (also called the LG GD910) starting €899 (£770) on contract. Okay, so it’s not exactly pocket change – but it’s a fair bit cheaper than the £1,000 price tag touted around back in February.
Don’t forget that this is a pretty high-end device: the world’s first 3G watch phone, in fact, packing 7.2Mbps HSDPA, an MP3 player, a VGA camera and more into a 14mm-thick shell. It’s also got a 1.43-inch glass touchscreen.
We expect Orange UK to reveal the phone and pricing detail soon. Stay tuned for more.
