Apple has just dropped OS X 10.5.8 onto Macs everywhere. And while a tweak to Apple’s aging OS doesn’t normally get us all het up, this one means we’re only one update away from OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard!
The latest update to OS X brings a slew of minor changes to your Mac, including Safari 4 upgrades, better iCal reliability and improved history search in your browser too.
But it’s the fact that only 10.5.9 is left before we can get out hands on Snow Leopard that’s got us primed and pumped. The new OS is already up for pre–order and will bring a string of killer add–ons to make your Mac even better.
OS X Snow Leopard up for pre–order
Open CL tech will utilise your Mac’s graphics chip to boost it’s power, battery age alert and will apparently be 2.3x faster than Leopard. It’s due to cost a mere $29 to upgrade when it lands later this year. That should mean £29 over here knowing Apple’s pricing previous.
With just 10.5.9 next, it’s looking good for a September or October release for Snow Leopard. Keep your fingers crossed, Mac fans.
