BlackBerry Curve 8520

We’ve taken a few shots of the BlackBerry Curve 8520. But RIM”s latest emailer has just popped through our letterbox, so we thought it’d be rude not to take it out of its box and grab a few more close up pics for you to ogle at. Keep reading and see the ruggedised, trackpad–packing Curve 8520 in action.

Make no mistake. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is not aimed at multimedia mavens looking to feast on hours of video before taking killer pics. This is very much a basic BlackBerry, but one that has some neat new tricks and some killer style.

The trackpad, which replaces the classic trackball, is actually surprisingly easy on the thumbs. And because it’s not chock full of moving parts, it doesn’t get clogged up with yesterday’s lunch and get stuck like its older bro.

The exterior has been given a makeover too. Gone are the scratch–friendly silver coverings of the BlackBerry Curve 8900. The Curve 8520 instead rocks rounded, ruggedised edges, with media keys up top. This all means you can keep it with your keys and coins without it taking a battering.

The Curve 8520 is out today on Vodafone and Orange, kicking off at a measly £25 a month. We’re off to have more of a play, so stay right here for our full review very soon.
