Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll: hands-on photos!

Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll doesn’t roll its way on to Wii Balance Boards until early next year, but we’ve caught a sneak peek of the game up close. Want to see how it looks? Read on and gorge on our gallery!

Sega wouldn’t let us play the preview code of Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll (Meanies) it was showing off, but it did walk and roll us through several of the single player levels, as well as some mini games. The main game plays almost exactly as you would expect, with the same tilting platform play, only this time it’s you doing the leaning, not the analog joystick. Just as fun as ever, in other words, but much more energetic.

Super Monkey Ball release date revealed

The best part of any Monkey Ball game is the sheer variety of nonsense mini games though. Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll will be no different: Sega won’t confirm the figure, but in the preview build we a subtitle under the Mini Game option listing 50. They’ll include the likes of Monkey See Saw, which sees you shuffling on the Balance Board to drop down rotating platforms, as well as other promised classics. We’re hoping that means Monkey Target, the most tactical, evil party game ever.

Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll should land early next year, but have a look now to see if it’s worth slapping down for Wii Fit right now in our hands-on gallery.
