Microsoft has announced a brand new keyboard and mouse combo designed specifically with Windows 7 in mind. The Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 comes with a variety of special keys for the upcoming OS – read on for all the details.
Windows Flip allows you to quickly bring up a thumbnail preview of all open windows with a single button press. Then there’s Device Stage, which lets you quickly access “common tasks” – product information, registration and settings for devices like mobile phones, cameras, PMPs and printers.
The Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 also features Taskbar Favourites controls on the keyboard, which correspond to the location of open applications on the Windows 7 taskbar. You can arrange the icons on the taskbar by clicking and dragging, and the Taskbar Favourites will instantly adapt to the changes you make.
The keyboard and mouse are designed for maximum comfort, according to Microsoft. It comes with a Comfort Curve layout, which apparently encourages natural wrist posture. Nice to know.
No UK price yet, but it will launch in the US later this month for around $80 (£47).
