INQ Chat 3G: the first QWERTY INQ

Those rumours of two different INQ social mobiles this year have proved true: the INQ Chat 3G has just been launched alongside the INQ Mini 3G, and while it’d be easy to write it off as a Fisher-Price BlackBerry Bold, it does a whole lot more for a whole lot less. Read on for all the deets.

As early last year, INQ promised us a follow up Facebook phone with a QWERTY keypad and GPS baked in, and the INQ Chat is it. Like the INQ Mini 3G, it’s got Twitter access so you can cheep on the cheap, but there’s also a larger 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 3.2MP camera and Google Maps to boot.

The HSDPA INQ Chat 3G’s also got a microSD slot to load up with media, but the biggie here is its messaging prowess. There’s a new email client promising free push Gmail, and we’ve had a chance to play with the keyboard. It’s a sturdy, rubber number that’s a doodle to type with and should make web browsing even better too.

The INQ Chat 3G is clearly aimed at those with an eye on a BlackBerry but not the wallet, and while pricing is yet to be confirmed for launch on the 3 network, we’re hoping it’ll be even cheaper than the latest budget BlackBerry, so you’ll be torn between them when this launches after the INQ Mini 3G.
