It feels like we’ve been talking about the mythical Apple Tablet for months, but now one sneaky analyst reckons they’ve actually played with the thing. According to reports running wild on the web, the “slate–style ” Apple tablet is just waiting for Steve Jobs’ final blessing and will be on sale by November after an official unveiling next month. Price wise, we’re hearing it’ll cost between £420 and £480 when it launches, putting pressure on netbook makers.
But that’s not the only Apple news nugget getting the web in a tizzy today. Pre-order pages for its next-generation OS X Snow Leopard operating system have also popped up, sending fanboys racing for their credit cards.
Amongst other things, OS X Snow Leopard is expected to bring vast speed and reliability improvements to OS X, as well as harnessing graphics hardware for more mundane duties, delivering an overall speed increase, even in old Macs.
Still not enough tech for ya? A new Nokia handset has also leaked this morning. The Nokia 5800i XpressMusic looks much the same as its predecessor, the bog-standard 5800, but there are a couple of noteworthy changes under the bonnet. There’s an improved camera, but strangely, no Wi-Fi antenna. What’s Nokia up to, we wonder?
Lastly, it seems Nikon is preparing an altogether new type of camera. A compact with a tiny projector built in, ready to share your snaps by beaming them onto a wall. The Nikon VP650 has been chattered about in camera circles for some time, but now it seems ready for release, with rumours pointing to a launch as early as next week!
