Kodak’s just turned up the heat on Flip some more with the new Kodak Zi8, a HD camcorder that keeps the size and price down while upping the resolution all the way to 1080p. Read on if you want to know when it can be yours to shove in your pocket.
Kodak’s been keeping pace with Flip for some time when it comes to jeans worthy, one touch recording camcorders, but with the Kodak Zi8 it’s starting to pull ahead: the 2.5-inch LCD screen is as easy to view as the Flip UltraHD’s display, and there’s pop out USB for quick copying as well as uploads to Facebook and YouTube, but the Kodak Zi8 also shoots in crispy full HD to boot.
The Kodak Zi8 ups recording quality in other ways to, with an external mic jack and image stabilization, and an SDHC card slot means the batteries will run out long before you run out of space. And once you’re done, you can hook it up straight to your telly via HDMI to play back all your high-def japes.
The Kodak Zi8 shoots onto British shelves from September in “aqua” (blue), “raspbery” (red) and black for £149.99. Your move, Flip.
