But the sequel to the revolutionary original has just hit top spot in Chart Track’s countdown of last week’s hottest games, pipping Harry Potter and Tiger Woods to the coveted prize. But how has it faired against other classic Wii titles? Keep reading and find out.

Despite Microsoft’s grand plans for Project Natal and Sony’s Motion Control, it seems the Wii is still reigning supreme. Wii Sports Resort which comes bundled with MotionPlus has hit number one on Chart Track, only a week after it first went on sale.

However, it’s still not managed to become the best–selling Wii game in its first week. It comes in fourth behind Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. It still proves though that the Wii’s casual titles are doing the business in the face of hardcore competition.

For those at the back, Wii Sports Resort is the sequel to the original Wii Sports. This time you can take your Mii on myriad bizarre adventures, including Power Cruising (ooh er!), sword fighting and revisit the bowling alley.
