The Ricoh GR Digital III, Ricoh‘s latest clever compact, has just been outed officially, and it’s packing enough kit to bother a DSLR, including zero shutter lag and one of the best LCD displays yet. Want to know when it can be yours? Read on, squire.
The 10MP Ricoh GR Digital III may not shoot underwater or in 3D, but it does promise some of the most spectacular compact camera stills around thanks to its GR Engine III image processor. It doesn’t hang about either, as the Ricoh GR Digital III will shoot up to five Raw images per second.
Unlike most compacts, the tinkering options stretch beyond “Party mode” too, letting serious shutterbugs fiddle with colour parameters in detail. It can shoot fast if needed, but to get the most out of the Ricoh GR Digital III, you’ll want to take your time setting up the shot.
You’ll know quickly if you’ve snapped a good’un though: the Ricoh GR Digital III’s 3-inch LCD panel is a hi-res VGA number, meaning you’ll get a closer idea of what the final result looks like than ever before. You’ll have to buy your own flash for the Ricoh GR Digital III unfortunately, but the body unit itself will set you back around £530 when it goes on sale next month.
