MintpadWe’ve not seen much of the Mintpad, the tiny little PDA that could, since we glimpsed it in South Korea earlier this year, but it looks like the touchscreen tyke is getting a Google flavoured makeover, making it the world’s littlest Android device.

The dinky little first-gen Mintpad managed to pack in a 2.8-inch screen, GPS, Wi-Fi and support for plenty of multimedia formats, all fueled by Windows CE when it debuted back in Spring, but now the talk has turned to Mintpad mark II. And the gabbling’s about Google’s Android.

Pocketables spoke to creator Mintpass about the possibility of an Android Mintpad, and it let slip that the open source mobile OS was definitely under consideration: “Such things are being discussed for the second generation mintpad, but nothing is set for sure. I can tell you that the next generation mintpad will be quite high in specification, though.”

That’s anything but a no, so if you’re on the lookout for an Android MID without the bulk of the upcoming Archos Android tablet, you might want to keep an eye out for a new Mintpad.
