The official iPhone Spotify app has been slung Apple’s way for approval to go on sale on the App Store, meaning you could be loading up on songs over 3G or Wi-Fi for free, and in just weeks. Want to see what to expect? Read on for a run through on film!
We’ve seen the Android Spotify app on show before, but this is the first time we’ve seen the iPhone Spotify app put through its paces. As you’d expect, it lets you chuck out your playlists over the air, and search for new tracks. As with the Android equivalent, the iPhone Spotify app will also let you download songs in advance, so the party on your phone won’t grind to a halt when you drop out of reception area. Our favourite touch though? The iPhone Spotify app lets you skip through search results with a flick of the album cover art.
Spotify has confirmed pricing for the iPhone Spotify app, and sadly it’s premium subscribers only, like any app created with Spotify’s API, meaning you’ll have to cough up £9.99 a month. Take a gander at this walkthrough video of the iPhone Spotify app though and we think you’ll agree though, this is one subscription worth forking over for every four weeks. Now, Apple, don’t you dare go blocking this just because you have iTunes, kay?
