Having already been christened on the other side of the pond due to some scurrilous leaks, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 has just been blessed with an official UK release by RIM. Offering in–built email addiction and a slew of basics for burgeoning BlackBerry addicts, the Curve 8520 is set to land in your palms by next month. Keep reading to get all the juicy facts.
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is no replacement for the top–notch BlackBerry Bold. The latest from RIM is about as basic as it gets. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth taking a punt. Dispensing with the much–loved trackball, the Curve 8520 comes with a laptop–like trackpad for zipping about from your mail to your music.
It certainly looks like a more stylish package than the BlackBerry Curve 8900, but at 13.9mm is just a tad fatter than its older bro. Still, you get some handy specs for working (and farting about) on the move. We’re talking Wi–Fi, BlackBerry App World access, a 2–megapixel snapper and a web browser. However, its only GPRS. Boo.
Word on the street is that the BlackBerry Curve 8520 will be up for grabs in the first week of August. Whether you’ll be able to fondle it on PAYG remains a mystery, but it’s just the kind of BlackBerry first–timers would get hooked on.
What we do know for sure is that this will be hitting shelves well ahead of the touchscreen BlackBerry Storm 2.
Out August | £TBC | RIM
