Olive Opus No. 4The Olive Opus No. 4 may be the most expensive music server we’ve ever clapped pupils on, but there’s no doubt it’s also the most stylish. It looks like a Sonos streamer met with Dolce & Gabbana for a shopping spree around Milan and the specs it’s come back with aren’t to be smirked at either.

Sure, Sonos and Sony are scrapping it out to see which music streaming machine can have the swishest touchscreen remote, but the Olive Opus No. 4 has flattened both with a glancing blow when it comes to looks. With its matte black finish and achingly chic music categories branded across the top, you won’t feel the need to hide this one away inside the nearest cupboard.

That look comes at a cost though: at $1,799 (£1,100) the Olive Opus No. 4 dwarfs even a pricey Sonos rig but for your moolah you get 2TB of storage, meaning plenty of space for hi-fi fan friendly FLAC format tunes, plus a colour touchscreen display on the front, a USB socket, ethernet, Wi-Fi adapter and internet radio connectivity.

The Olive Opus No. 4 takes on Sonos with multi-room capability too, lashing up to a Melody Hi-Fi Multi-Room Player to sling songs around the house. You’ll be able to decide for yourself whether the extra cost is worth it when the Olive Opus No. 4 goes on sale in August.
