Olympus Mju 7010Are you done yet, Olympus? Barely taking time to pause after the astonishing E-P1 and rugged Mju Tough-6010, it’s just outed the Olympus Mju 7010 compact snapper. Want to know what this one’s packing, shutterbugs? Read right on through.

The Olympus Mju 7010 is sporting the now par for the course 12MP sensor, along with a 2.7-inch LCD panel, but ups the ante with some fancy face tracking (up to 16 peeps per pic) and dual image stabilisation. There’s also a 7x optical zoom on the Olympus Mju 7010, a nice touch if you’re a Facebook photographer who likes to double as a paparazzo on the side.

You’ll also find some “magic filters” on board, which promise to be decidedly gimmicky – you can choose from Fish-Eye and Sketch amongst others – but for £249, we can live with these tacked on to an otherwise nifty compact.

The Olympus Mju 7010 is out in silver, grey and pink (or rather starry, titanium and candy, according to Olympus) next month.
