That twin lens Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 camera we caught sight of in our red and green goggles last week has just been made official, with plenty of juicy specs tossed out into the public domain for next-gen camera fanatics to feast on. The best of them? It shoots 3D video too.
As expected, the Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 is due out in September. What’s got us excited isn’t just the 3x optical zoom but the potential to snap stills and video with added depth perception. To top it all off you can then play it all back in 3D on the 800×600 screen, all without the need for silly spectacles.
Fujifilm FinePix priced and dated
If you’re looking to make what you take with the Real 3D W1 a bit more permanent, Fujifilm’s offering an 8-inch picture frame with the same technology baked in: all you have to do is slide an SD card up in there to kickstart the triple dimension slideshow. You’ll also be able to get your shots printed off at Fujifilm’s in house 3D print service.
The price tag for the Real 3D W1 is still unconfirmed for the UK, but Stuff says we’re talking in the ball park figure of £550. A large price yes, but with word that YouTube is providing stacks of stereoscopic options, it’s suddenly much more appealing.

Congrats to Fujifilm for starting a new digital photography revolution! I can’t wait to see how the pictures will turn out.
