Motorola hasn’t had much luck with luxury phones. Its Aura is just too expensive, and the ROKR ZN50 has yet to make it to these shores. And now some more bad news: its next luxury caller, the Ivory E18 has been scrapped.
The phone, intended to be made from either steel, gold or platinum, depending how much you were prepared to shell out, was due to be priced at a credit crunch-dodging $2,000. And that’s for the cheap-o steel version.
Motorola ROKR ZN50: The second coming of Moto?
According to Mobile-Review the Motorola Ivory, which packed a dual slide design to show either function keys or the whole keypad, also packed a 3 megapixel camera and similar specs to the Motorola Aura.
However, a “lack of interest” from operators meant Moto has had to cancel production of the Ivory E18. Guess we’re back to hoping for the ROKR ZN50 instead.
