Sky Interactive Solar SystemTo celebrate the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong planting his feet on the moon, Sky has decided to come over all interactive. The pay TV powerhouse, whose recent MJ tribute was an HD winner, has cobbled together an awesome Interactive Solar System which you can prod and poke right now over on skynews.com.

Sky’s Interactive Solar System is looking to capitalise on everyone’s current Moon obsession, as wannabe astronauts and space fans the world over commemorate the moon landings of 20 July 1969.

You can head over to the Sky News site now and have a play. Click on different planets and you’ll be fed facts about their size, when plucky astronomers first discovered them and even some extra geeky facts for wheeling out down the pub this evening.

So you can ask your pals which is the highest mountain in the Solar System? (Olympus Mons on Mars, three times higher than Everest. Obviously.) Or just casually drop in that Saturn’s density is so low it could float on water (our personal favourite).

You can play with the Interactive Solar System now, with Sky promising continued access even as the hype dies down and we leave Armstrong and co to get back on with their day to day lives.
