PS3 Motion ControlWe’ve just been served up with a welter of new details on Sony’s PS3 Motion Control, which went into war with Microsoft’s Project Natal at E3 back in June. Word comes straight from Sony that we can expect Motion Control to pack in facial and gesture recognition, with reports trickling in that its super accurate style could truly rival the Big M’s efforts.

PS3 Motion Control was somewhat usurped by Project Natal in LA. But make no mistake: this slice of gaming wizardry is going to be killer once it launches. Mouthing off at a developer conference in Brighton, Sony’s Paul Holman has unveiled tons more news about the all new controller.

“Anything is possible,” he said, talking of Motion Control. “We have a lot of libraries in this space already to do with facial recognition, spatial recognition and gesture control. At the end of the day game designers and developers have to think about how they put them together.”

PS3 Motion Control coming Spring 2010

And it seems devs are already well and truly underway with their Motion Control plans. One has even described it as “bloody precise.” Well, that’s certainly one way of putting it.

Sony also says they’re on track for a spring 2010 release for Motion Control. But with their previous track record with the PS3, we’re not going to be holding our breath on that one
