We got close up on camera with the Sony VAIO W netbook yesterday, but if the oodles of stills didn’t quench your thirst for the little laptop, not to worry. We’ve got some hands-on video of Sony’s greatest U-turn of a gadget for you to fill your peepers with right here too!

Sony’s far more than fashionably late to the netbook party with the Sony VAIO W, but despite rocking completely standard specs inside, it’s still turning heads on arrival. Sony’s not desperately trying to make a netbook that’s wafer thin, or one with the beefiest battery on the planet, just one that’s so stylish, you won’t have any qualms pulling it out on the train.

Sony VAIO W netbook hands-on photos!

Sony is going for aesthetics with the Sony VAIO W, much like Asus has been recently, but holding it in your hands, it’s more like the Toshiba NB200 thanks to the island keyboard and metal finish. The true test though is whether the Sony VAIO W can match its stonking battery life.

The Sony VAIO W netbook ships from August, but you might have to wait a bit longer to grab the dark brown model we played with: the white model is out first. In the meantime, check out our hands-on video right here!
