Chillblast Fusion Gemini

Don’t be fooled by the silly name, or even the plasticky case. The ChillBlast Fusion Gemini is a seriously powerful bit of kit. A dedicated gaming PC, running 64-bit Windows Vista on Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Processor over-clocked at up to 3.5GHz. Those stats are enough to put a gamer into a paroxysm of excitement, but it doesn’t stop there.

Inside is the Asus Rampage Formula motherboard with Intel X48 chipset and passive cooling from an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro system. There’s also a beefy 4GB of memory and a 1TB hard disk.

All that adds up to a thundering beast of a PC, able to blitz through games and apps alike. The key it keeping the whole thing cool. There are seven fans inside the ChillBlast Fusion Gemini, as well as that passive cooling system, which uses large lumps of copper to conduct heat away from precious components.

But it’s not just good on the inside. There’s a peripheral package inculding a 24-inch Samsung widescreen monitor, Saitek gaming keyboard, Razer Diamondback 3G gaming mouse and Logitech X-540 5.1 Speakers.

Of course, there are downsides to such an extreme gaming machine. Most notable is the noise. Those fans kick up a noticeable racket, and the whole machine still feels warm after a few hours’ use.

It’s a top notch PC, no doubting it, but starting at just over £1,700 it’s a pricey one too. What’s more, you won’t want it whirring away next to you while you try to concentrate on work. This is for gamers only, and exceptionally cool ones at that.

If it’s a gaming PC why don’t you mention the graphics card/s?
