Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman: all the official photos

Sony Ericsson’s just dropped those brand new phones we were promised: presenting the Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman and W205a. No, they’re not the Android phone we were hoping for, but they’re certainly the best looking entry level Walkman phones we’ve ever seen. Has Sony Ericsson just killed the new E Series? Read on and see for yourself!

Granted, the spec list for the Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman holds nothing we’ve not seen before: FM radio, Bluetooth, TrackID for tune recognition, 1.3MP camera with video recording and an M2 memory slot to load all your songs (What happened to the microSD you’ve been promising, Sony Ericsson?). But low-res screen aside, the Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman looks nigh on indistinguishable from the much fancier W995 and its ilk thanks to a polished shell and slick keypad.

Combine that with the promise that it’s the “most affordable Walkman” mobile to date, and suddenly those two new Walkmans we glimpsed yesterday seem a bit pointless. Can they make calls? There’s no confirmation yet, but it looks like the Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman will be UK bound later this year, while the W205a (which has different operating frequencies) is destined for elsewhere. Take a peek at the official photos in the meantime right here.
