Remember Acer’s Android plans? Well, they’re back. The fellas behind the best–selling Aspire One are plotting the release of their Acer A1 Android phone for September according to reports in the Far East. Read on to find out just what you can expect from Acer A1 now.
The Acer A1 Android will be the PC type’s first effort at a Google–friendly phone, having signed up for the Big G’s Open Handset Alliance earlier this year. Digitimes has all the details, claiming inside sources have given them word that the mobile will be here from September.
As ever, it’s component makers who’ve spilt the beans, with Compal and Inventec Appliances beavering away on the high–tech goodies that’ll make up the Acer A1. Sadly though, that’s as much as they’re handing over for now, with news of whether the OS will be tweaked left until a later date.
On top of the Acer A1, there’s also talk of three new Windows Mobile phones from Acer, one including the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, currently hidden away in the Toshiba TG01.
