Samsung M1A snap of a mystery touchscreen PMP, dubbed the Samsung M1, has leaked online, showing what Samsung’s got up its sleeve next to take on the might of the iPod touch. But does it stand a chance without an app store backing it? Read on to see what this mobile jukebox boasts instead.

This shot of the Samsung M1 has popped up over on the Samsung Forum after one user dug up details on the 3.3-inch gizmo from some geek-tastic Bluetooth certification papers. At a glance, the snap of the Samsung M1′s home screen doesn’t offer much, but take a peek up close and you’ll see a few features that might help it stand out.

The Flash Player looks to be one unusual feature onboard the Samsung M1, letting you rip YouTube videos and the like and slap them on without the need for converting via a program like Real SP.

The positioning of the speakers at the top of the device, and what looks like a microphone at the bottom also make us suspicious of its intentions. See, with those features built in, the Samsung M1 could easily pull double duty as a VoIP phone, ready for use in Wi-Fi hotspots, similar to Skype for the iPod touch.

Until Samsung rips the covers off for real we don’t know what goodies the M1 holds inside for sure. What we do know is that a moderators over at Anything But iPod has been given all the juicy details, but claims to be gagged by Samsung until some future date. When that day arrives, we should know much more.
