There’s been rumour of iPhone exclusivity coming to an end for months now, but the whispers have just turned to shouts, with T-Mobile confirming that it’s in talks with Apple to stock the iPhone 3G, and Orange on the cards too.
The Register reports that T-Mobile has confirmed it’s discussing bringing the iPhone 3G to the network within the coming months – and that Orange is believed to be too.
The iPhone 3GS will still stay an O2 exclusive (Just like the rival Palm Pre), so if you want video recording on T-Mobile, you’ll still have to gamble on a jailbreak solution.
If the iPhone 3G does lose exclusivity, it’ll be interesting to see how low the price can go, especially since O2 didn’t drop the price of it as AT&T did in the US last month.
Similar reports have emerged out of America in the last few months, so it looks like Apple is beginning to change its business model for the iPhone. Will it work? We’ll soon see.
