Specs for the upcoming BlackBerry Storm 2 have just leaked out online, and while they match with previous rumours of Wi-Fi, word’s out that this time, it may not even be a Vodafone exclusive! Read on to see how we know.
Photos of the BlackBerry Storm 2 leaked out a few months back, promising a powerful touchscreen smartphone from the Canadian company, only this time with Wi-Fi and sans the clacky screen. RIM really needs to call a plumber in: a new bunch of rumours from Boy Genius Report back those up, with claims that a BlackBerry Storm 2 will come with a 3.2MP camera and a 360×480 screen.
Spec heads amongst you will notice that those aren’t an improvement over the original BlackBerry Storm, but number two promises one extra goodie, Wi-Fi, which all but crippled the original.
Here’s where the rumours take an intriguing twist though: the next BlackBerry Storm 2 is supposedly being prepped for other networks than Verizon/Vodafone. At least in North America, AT&T and Rogers could be getting this model, if not immediately, which bodes well for a non-exclusive release in the UK too. Mix the BlackBerry Storm 2 with a broader 3G network than Vodafone’s, and RIM, you’ve got yourself a deal.
