f88The F88 netbook isn’t your average pared down laptop. Stuffed with features you’d expect to find on a specced up lappie, it’s about as far as you can get from a bog standard Asus Eee PC. So what can you netbook mad techheads expect from the F88? And when will it land in your lap? Read on to find out.

There’s no doubting the F88 offers punters more bang for their buck than a basic, XP-toting netbook. It comes with a massive 4GB of RAM, a huge 500GB HDD and S3 Chrome 9 graphics. What about the Intel Atom? Well, it’s not here. Instead, you get a 1.6GHz VIA Nano effort.

The F88 is very much a netbook though. It has a 10.1–inch screen with a 1024 x 600 resolution. Plus it’ll handle 1080p HD, although that’ll probably look as sexy as that old hag who hangs out down your local Wetherspoons.

Handily, there’s HDMI out, so you can fire any HD vids you do have from your F88 to an external display.

So when’s it coming? Well, the F88 is an OEM, so that means it’ll get rebadged, with a release expected soon. But with a spec sheet that makes the entry level MacBook blush, expect it to be Sony Vaio P–style pricey.
