B&Q video gameB&Q isn’t the first “brand” you’d think is in sore need of a video game. Putting together a garden shed doesn’t scream first-person-shooter, but inside sources say the DIY store is looking to launch its very own Nintendo DS, DSi and Wii games. Ever used the Wiimote as a hammer? You might do soon, so read on to find out what we know.

According to MCV, B&Q is on the lookout for a games studio willing to develop an “instructional-style” Nintendo DS game, or even a “pure fun game based on DIY jobs for the Wii.”

We can imagine how a B&Q game for the Nintendo DS or DSi might be useful when putting together outdoor furniture (although an iPhone app would surely be the way forward here), but we’re much more excited about the prospect of a B&Q game for the Wii.

Just think of the possibilities: B&Q mini games would be a dead cert, and they could see you wielding the Wiimote as a mallet, or you pretending to be a spirit level on the Wii balance board.

A B&Q spokesperson denied the claim, but with B&Q only recently launching a DIY DVD, the company’s on a roll in the media game, we say, why stop there? You can virtually do it, when you B&Q it.
