We knew Sony Ericsson was working on an Android phone already, but a new video has just leaked out online, showing that the Sony spin-off has been working on a brand new skin for Google’s OS for its new Sony Ericsson Rachael smartphone. Just like HTC’s Sense take for the HTC Hero, in fact. Read on for a first viewing!

Sony Ericsson’s bucket definitely has a hole in it. After the company’s crazy Kiki concept and ugly Rubik’s Cube blower broke cover in the last week, phone fansite Esato now has images of a new Sony Ericsson Rachael Android phone, and a video of its tailor made Android UI to boot.

Sony Ericsson Kiki concept phone revealed

The video of Sony Ericsson’s Android skin shows a very cool 3D contacts list, which allows you to bring up more information about a friend by lifting their mugshot upwards, and even see photos with them tagged in. Our favourite bit though? The Sony Ericsson Rachael spin on Android includes Facebook and Twitter integration knitted in, similar to what webOS offers on the Palm Pre.

Specs wise, the Sony Ericsson Rachael looks like a winner too, with whispers of a 8MP camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and the Snapdragon chip fueling the Toshiba TG01 so we can’t wait for more deets to drop.

Oh, in case you were wondering, those names in the video? We had a peep and they’re not Sony Ericsson staff. David Wenham is an Australian actor, and Esther Chung is a doctor in the US, so it looks like whoever leaked this hid their own tracks.
