The BlackBerry Curve 8520, RIM’s first drug-in-phone-form to come with an optical trackpad instead of a rollerball, will hit holsters from August, according to new rumours, with new colours spied too!
We’ve not heard much about the BlackBerry Curve 8520 since it was first sighted 2 months ago, but now new leaks from CrackBerry.com show the mobile messenger is getting a lick of silver paint, as well as a potential release next month.

If you’re wondering why you should be excited about RIM’s latest flavour of fruit, take a look at the BlackBerry Curve 8520’s centrepiece. The trackball’s been ditched in favour of an optical trackpad, meaning you won’t be getting grit lodged in the controls and stopping you scrolling on screen anymore.
Now for the bad news: like the previous BlackBerry Curve 8900, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 ditches the 3G for better battery life. That means this one’s designed as a company fleet phone over a consumer device, so if you’re looking for a BlackBerry stuffed with high speed net access that’s not as fat as the Bold, you may have to hold on until the BlackBerry Onyx gets here.
