Feast your eyes on the Motorola ROKR ZN50. Could it be the lifeline Motorola so desperately needs? We think so. Moto has had a rough time recently, outing several phones that’ve failed to grab attention or rack up sales, but this slick slider could solve that.
The ROKR ZN50 continues Motorola’s tradition of silly names, but packs in features to fan the flames of Moto-lust in ways not seen since the days of the RAZR. For a start there’s a 3.2 inch touchscreen and a battery strong enough to kick 30 hours of music through a proper headphone socket.
It’s HSDPA-enabled for high speed web surfing, has 4GB of built in storage and nifty shake-to-shuffle technology when it comes to playing music.
There’s also stereo Bluetooth and SRS WOW HD tech to make tunes sound amazing, and that’s on top of a T-DMB TV tuner.
The new software inside (dubbed Motorola’s Panorama UI) looks an absolute treat, taking cues from Android and offering a homescreen that scrolls sideways to house shortcuts and widgets.
And now for the bad news. The ROKR ZN50 is only hitting the streets in Korea. Still, it shows Motorola’s not rolling over just yet. We’ve got everything crossed for a UK release. We’ll bring you more as we hear it.
