I've now owned an N97 for around two months, and while initially buying the handset for it's obvious beauty and apparent functionality, did I find that firmware version 21.0.019 was at best useless! and only after a month of frustration and wanting to launch the handset through a wall did I finally get an update to firmware version 21.0.045 that has proven more stable, offering better RAM management and reducing the need to constantly restart the handset to recover from frequent software crashes.

Now I like my Nokia N97. It's full of great software (Ta Ovi) and functions really reliably now.
I know so many friends who owned N97's and changed when they first came out because of all the early teething problems, I'm just glad now I hung on. I have lost a bit of faith in Nokia overall though, I felt let down as a customer.

The N97 is a good phone, with lots of good features, but the resistive touchscreen, lacklustre Ovi app store and ageing browser are disappointing.
