Were it not for the removable, more powerful battery, the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell would be nigh on indistinguishable from its older brother at a glance. It’s rocking the smooth edges, glossy finish and large keyboard of the 1008HA, but its true predecessor is the bulky Asus Eee PC 1000HE with a battery life that felt like it was almost as long as The Postman.

The detachable battery does add thickness, admittedly, and the Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell is certainly thicker and weightier than the first Seashell, but it still feels like a netbook you’d happily pop in your bag on the way out the door.
