Acer‘s just wheeled out the Acer Aspire 1810T, a brand new netbook. But not any old netbook. The Aspire 1810T ditches the traditional Atom processor cobbled together with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive in favour of tons more grunt. Read on to find out what makes this stand out from the crowd.
Once upon a time, almost every new netbook seemed to have the same old specs, only differentiated by how good the battery was, or whether the keyboard was cramped or not. The new Acer Aspire 1810T rips up the rule book though: it’s an 11.6-inch number with a 1.4GHz ULV processor, but up to 4GB of RAM, a HDMI port to hook it up to your telly and an 8 hour battery.
Also on board the Acer Aspire 1810T are optional 3G, Bluetooth, GMA 4500MHD graphics and Wi-Fi. The 1,366×768 screen on the Acer Aspire 1810T meanwhile bests most netbooks, and is capable of dishing out 720p HD video.
The Acer Aspire 1810T does come with Windows Vista, but we’re getting mighty close to the Windows 7 launch, and with the release candidate already freely available, there’s nothing stopping you from switching up as soon as the Acer Aspire 1810T ships. With any luck, Acer will let us know when that is sharpish.
