iPhone 3GSThe iPhone 3GS has already been jailbroken for Windows by wily hackers. But now the latest incarnation of Apple’s holy blower has got a jailbreak for Macs too. Keep reading and get the full skinny on just what this means for the mighty iPhone 3GS.

In spite of much clamouring, the iPhone 3GS, just like its predecessors, is a shackled beast. And after hackers found a way for Windows users to get their iPhone playing nice on other networks, now they’ve worked out how to get Mac fans in on the action as well.

The jailbreak will mean you can use your iPhone 3GS on any network, but it does come at a cost. Namely, invalidating your warranty with Apple and running the risk of untold issues when Apple issues fixes and updates in the future.

There’s no doubt though that some punters will be tempted, especially considering a SIM–free iPhone 3GS will set you back a whacking £900 on Play.com.
