Archos 9, the Windows 7 packing tablet unleashed last month in Paris, is coming to the UK. The French PMP giant, which now has a penchant for netbooks and PCs, has confirmed a September release for us Brits. Read on to see just how much the Archos 9 will set you back.
Punters after the new Windows 7 laden Archos 9 will be able to get their mitts on two different models, one rocking an 80GB HDD, the other with a more capacious 160GB.
The latter will drain your bank account of £499.99, with the smaller version hitting you for £449.99. Both cram in a Z515 Intel processor, Wi–Fi and Bluetooth. We’re also promised that the Archos 9 will offer a tasty touchscreen, but with trackballs for those who don’t want their digits smearing the screen.
Archos says that both models will be landing in September. Strangely though, Microsoft has already said that Windows 7 won’t be hitting shelves until 22 October. Either the Archos 9 will be the first machine toting the new OS, or someone at Microsoft needs to get on the phone pronto and get it delayed.
On top of the Archos 9, plans for a 12-inch model for 2010 have also been announced. It seems the tablet PC has been well and truly reborn.
